5W's
Each Wednesday, my students have a "5W' assignment due. This weekly homework assignment requires students to read an online news source and accurately summarize the news article.

Free Rice
I often allow students to visit freerice.com in order to assist with vocabulary development. Students can increase their vocabulary and donate rice to those in need at the same time. Students like the challenge of getting to higher levels and like the idea of being able to donate food through the World Food Programme.

Study Stack
My students have used Study Stack throughout the year to practice vocabulary from our in-class novels. Study Stack is a website that allows teachers to input vocabulary words and definitions for students. Students are able to view flashcards, crosswords, games, etc. that all incorporate those specific vocabulary words.
