How can technology create literate global and local citizens?
As the world is becoming smaller, people are becoming increasingly connected. As times change, technology becomes more advanced which allows us to communicate in distinct and innovative ways. As our students complete their compulsory education studies, they will encounter people from all backgrounds and walks of life. They will also encounter experiences many of us may not have seen at such a young age. Our job as teachers is to prepare students with the skills they will need to be successful citizens in a connected, competitive world. Students will need to be fully knowledgeable and able to comprehend new literacies. Students will also have to be active in their local community as well as the global community in an effort to create a sustainable future.
